The Brandt Family

Tonight I am wondering why God created deer flies. You know, the ones that BITE! I know there must be a reason (because I do believe there is actually a reason for everything) but tonight I'm not feeling the love for them.

Melissa Brandt was the winner of the contest that I held a month ago. She posted a picture of her beautiful daughter holding an umbrella in a sunflower field. It was really cute. And, she had some loyal voters! Missy and her family won a free session with me and also a free 16x20 canvas to hang in their home.

We met up along Lake Michigan and it was perfect out. There were really nice clouds that were perfect for diffusing the sun so I was really excited about that but also about meeting Missy! I stepped out of my car, went to the beach to check things out and realized that this was not going to be as enjoyable as I thought. Those darn flies attacked me!

What a trooper this family is though. We managed to get some very cute shots despite being very uncomfortable. Steve even went to the gas station to get bug spray but we think they actually liked us more. :o)

Anyway, it was a pleasure to meet you, Brandt Family. You are all so cute and I had a great time with you tonight. Let's do this again soon! Next year?
